Carteling by airlines

Below Post by Satyajit Singh ji deserves attention.

The airlines have formed a cartel and are charging 5 times fare for flights from/to Trivandrum. No other airports are functional. I request consumer affairs ministry and localcircles to immediately escalate this to CCI and also please request CCI to be in this circle. Real time situations cant afford actions that come in one month.

Post of Satyajit Singh ji:

In this hour of crisis in kerala every Indian should contribute to help but our airline companies are out to suck their blood. Only Trivendram airport is functional but airfares have been jacked up 5 times. Is it fair? Should the Govt particularly our PM not intervene to stop this inhuman act by airlines? In Karnataka also flood has caused widespread damages but airfare for Mangalore has gone up five times. We must petition our PM to stop this immediately. more

At the time of crises, companies tacking advantage of situation and making profit. Fare CAP should be introduced. At any circumstance price should not cross the limit. more
very very valid point, but the problem is when even railways - a GOI organization- indulges in so called "dynamic fares" , who is going to bell the cat? Similar situation has happened in the past any may happen again. Reason-- lack of social accountability and transparency in the whole transport sector. more
There are reports of AIRLINES charging exhorbitant fees for people going to KERALA during the recent havoc. The DGCA is sleeping over the issue more
