Cash only??

Recently, one of my colleagues had to be hospitalised and thereafter undergo physiotherapy in a center. The physiotherapy center was insisting on cash payment for amount which was ruuming into thousands. This was in Chennai. We have told them clearly that we can only pay digitally.
So, now when our leaders talk of eliminating corruption, isn't this also one form of corruption. There are many shops and services which insist on cash payment.
An online easy way where one can report such cases and know the status of the action taken would be of great help. more

Digital payments is yo avoid cash, and every shops, doctors , hospitals, eateries, accepting payment mode either as debit /credit, on line payment gpay etc. Even small street vendors including vegitable vendors, auto rickshaws taxis, publuc / private bus players accepts gpay. How come physiotherapy centre insists cash payments, when even beggers accept gpay? gradually, people may not have liquid Cash and/ or the whole system may be switched over to gpay., as almost every transaction is digitalized. more
people talk of cashless etc high tech things but in lot of hospitals etc still they insist on cash only and one can understand why since black market is rampant in all dealings more
Leave aside the hospitals, even small traders, whole sellers insists cash payments for purchases with small discount but without proper bill. In this way they save income tax and manipulates GST. more
Cashless Economy is still a nightmare in India. Billions or Trillions UPI Transactions that are taking place, 80% are for below Rs. 2000 that are done by lower middleclass people for groceries fruits and vegetables. Upper middle and upper-class people are still doing cash transactions in bulk. I don’t think any govt. mechanism at present is able to prohibit them. Govt. is publishing monthly or yearly UPI transaction data that is in trillions but still cash transactions taking place in Indian economy are many folds than UPI if we exclude bank to bank transactions, but is it by any means possible for the Govt. to control such cash transactions? Perhaps not, discarding physical currency and promoting only eRupee transactions may pave a way to solve the problem. Cash transactions are the root cause of corruption. Govt may create awareness by forcing every such entity to display "NO CASH TRANSACTION ALLOWED" Above certain limits i.e. Rs. 2000. It is easy to pass the blame to system, but will LCM suggest a solution to fully control such cash transactions. more
There is no rule that prevents anybody from demanding payment in cash. A small trader demanding cash payment is to avoid unnecessary bank charges GST etc., which the trader can not afford. By making digital payment if you think corruption can be put to an end you are mistaken, Because the very system is corrupt. more
Agree, but what's the point here for doing so when corruption is all around. We have People like Ajit pawar, Chagan bhujbal etc. who had cases against them for corruption being taken as part of the ruling government which implies that the government is indirectly open to take in its fold corrupt people and close the cases against corrupt people. Is this not a form of Corruption? so why talk about small fish who take cash. more
