Cheated by British Airways

Hi All, I travelled through British Airways from USA to New Delhi, I checked In with 3 baggage but upon arrival at IGI, New Delhi I received only 2 baggage. I immediately registered my complaint with British Airways executive at Airport and received complaint number. After 21 days I registered my claim request as per procedure, now the airlines neither approving my claim nor able to trace my suitcase. I lost valuables of approx 85K. Kindly advice what shall I do now. Is approaching consumer court a good idea, how soon will I get justice from court. Kindly advice. more

Dear All, thanks for your valuable suggestions. Few things I did in past few days include a complaint to British Prime Minister and a complaint to British Ambassador in India. I also again wrote to CEO of British Airways who once again sent my email to same claim settlement officer and got similar reply from her however this time she advised me to write to Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) for an independent decision to be made. I also did that yesterday and waiting for their reply. Further I am in touch with the investigation officer based at Airport Police Station. I will wait for few more days and then will approach court for justice no matter the time it will take. more
The basic reason for our miseries in this country is organised corruption and unless we are organised ourselves we cannot fight these powerful cartels. I am coordinator for IAC(India Against Corruption) in 5 states and we are in the process of bringing together IAC volunteers or similar minded people across the country. You can join the movement in whatever capacity and help each other strive for a corrupt free country which ultimately takes care of our individual grievances. You can either email me on iacsaathi@gmail.com or whatsapp message on 9323582648 more
My experience with a consumer court is good , but it can take years and layers fees to get your compensation , good luck more
I understand that British Airways is known for misplacing the baggage. Now not responding in the right way when they have lost the baggage of a passenger cannot be forgiven. They are liable to compensate for the loss. more
I had a similar experience with British Rail 40 years ago when I moved from Manchester to London. I never got any compensation. I lost a 3 in 1 music system which cost me 200 pounds at that time. Apparently nothing has changed with the British system since then! I am really glad I returned to India the moment I finished my studies. more
