Cigarette selling is permissible?
If you go to cinema hall you will find lots of ads mentioning " smoking is injurious to health"... when govt. is displaying such ads., how they are allowing sell in the market...isn't contradictory....it is possible in our country....shame...knowingfully fault...S. K. Bhadra more

Cigarette and tobacco are consumed since centuries, I have seen smokers in good health in their eighties perhaps better than their non-smoker counterparts. There are certain researches which say that tobacco is helpful in preventing Alzheimer like disease in old age. It may cause cancer but no one is certain to whom. In reality it is pharma lobby which is brain washing and governing health rules in any country. A bit of nicotine in blood relaxes brain and body and creates a feel-good factor which causes people to fall sick less frequently. Pharma also not want to ban tobacco, they just want to create a hype to make people feel like addicted and sell their own products to de-addict them, but the substitutes they sell are also a blend of nicotine itself. Government also knows this, as in the shade of the level “Hazardous to health” government is levying incrementally huge taxes since lost 50 years and earning money. In my belief cigarette smoking in modernity is not as harmful as being advertised, however anything in extreme may be dangerous. more

Govt earns a lot of Revenue from Cigarette Business. Hence they can not stop it completely. more

No govt in the world can afford to ban sale of cigarettes, illicit sexual activity and alcohol. Such things are as old as humanity. Learn to go with the wave. more

Governments excise duty revenue is high and tobacco leaves cultivation in many states, employees several lk ack employment. Many corrupt are earning much more than what they are eligible hence, government will only send warnings. Sales of loosr cigetates are flurishing in market. It is posdibke onky when strict government norms are laid else one time plastic carry bags are openly sold fue to corrupt government oi officials courtesy. more
