Citibank is sharing aadhaar details with a third party.

I am shocked at this. I have an account with Citibank credit card and they are making hue and cry that they will not accept e-aadhaar card copy for KYC. They are asking me to go to their branch to register my KYC. Who has the time to go to a branch, everything is done online nowadays. It is unbelievable. I have this credit card for the past 25 years and am a privilege customer.

I am not understanding this. The government says on one hand Aadhaar card details cannot be misused and is not for public sharing and on the other hand Citibank is sharing aadhaar details with a third party.
Seems something is wrong. more

We link our Aadhar Card with our bank account. I don't understand why we need to link Adhar Card with credit card . What purpose does it serve ? more
Gloriajee, if you log in to your Citi account (you can register), and simply mention your Aadhar number in the space provided, the process of acceptance takes 2 days, and yo get an email accepting this from Citi. I did this without a hitch. This was much easier than my other bank accounts. more
I tried this but it didnt work Sir. The bank wants me to physically go to their bank and produce the original aadhaar card. more
True. This is right & simple procedure to get linked your AADHAR. more
Few days back ,I received a sms to link City Bank credit card to Aadhar through a given no. I completed the process and got it confirmation message. more
As per Govt of India instructions, all bank accounts are to be linked with AAdhar by 31st December, 2017. Some banks are linking it throgh Net Banking as well as by SMS but where it is not possible they insist to visit any branch with original for verification of photocopy, for linking the account. They are not passing any information. more
You send them a mail mentioning Account Number and theAadhar No. they are obliged to do the entry and you do not have to go there personally at all. These guidelines are compulsory laid down by the Government.I hope it satisfies you and your aggrieved tension. more
