Citizen funded Garbage Collection coming

MCGM our Mumbai Municipality is exploring new ways to boost revenue. It includes tax on garbage collection and additional levies on services such as issuing birth certificates. Collection is down 5% this year so this is the way to make it up.

My concern is only this, have all the ghost employees who are enrolled at municipality but working at neta and babu homes been removed. has also the cuts and corruption stopped.

Poor wont' pay any tax for garbage collection so it will be the middle class upwards who are already stretched bearing the brunt of it.

Citizens of mumbai as well as citizens across India should oppose this till the workings of municipal corporations are clean and transaprent.

Because you if they do in Mumbai unopposed, many other bankrupt municipalities will take cue and start moving in this direction.

Tax payer money ka misuse and to cover the shortfall as more money from the tax payer. Shitty formulae and approach. more

Follow Sweden model of 0 waste/garbage system. more
Tax collection must be on the ground also in the form eliminating garbage and making it recycle and cleaning of waste water instead of sending it to sea or river and polluting it. more
GARBAGE COLLECTED IS SORTED IN VARIOUS COMPONENTS AND BRINGS MONEY. A NOIDA ENTREPRENEUR IS COLLECTING GARBAGE FREE OF COST AND EARNING AFTER RECYCLING THE COMPONENTS LIKE METALS, GLASS, PLASTICS ETC. THE VEGETABLE MATTER IS TURNED INTO MANURE. HE SELLS THE MANURE FOR GARDENING. HE HAS DEVELOPED A PLAT NURSERY AS WELL AND SELLS PLANTS ALSO. more
You will never see this corrupt officials doing anything for their constituency. When anyone even opens a shop also this ppl come and take money as party fund. This is high time that we start protesting about this continuously and also choose candidates who have the corruption free environment as their motto. All this funds going as tax are being misused by this bureaucrats for their own benefit. Even peons have their own bribe system. Unless we shame them and their techniques they will not stop more
This is too much. People are already burdened by paying several taxes. more
