Congrats circles

ICMR has issued guidelines for COVID-19 testing in private hospitals. National task Force says Max cost for COVID-19 samples testing at Rs 4500. Cost may include Rs1500 for a screening test for suspect cases. Confirmation test charges capped at Rs 3000.

While its really nice that Govt has taken circle recommendation to cap price, it seems the cap at 4500 is low viz a viz what LocalCircles was proposing at 8000.

I really hope that the private sector labs will play ball and not cringe in doing these tests for 4500 more

Who said Local circles suggested rs 8000.Rs 4000 is too much.I don't think th here should be private testing There should only be government testing and all the doctors should leave their private practice and flock th o the nation's aid more
Rs. 4500/- per test will be too steep for poor n middle class people. Govt. should provide 50% subsidy to private facilities so that the epidemic can be arrested at the earliest. more
Rs. 4500/- per test is too steep. Since we are now going to enter into the third stage where community infection cases are going to increase exponentially, the tests should be made free of cost, so that all suspects can run to hospital on their own to get the tests done. If everybody in the family needs to be tested (since this is the norm and guideline) the total cost is going to be prohibitive for many to delay the tests (until severe symptoms appear). By that time they would probably have infected countless others. more
all hospitals should do the test for free without charging anything to anyone more
