Consumer Problems in Insurance Sector

While the issue highlighted by Mr Ramakrishna,is correct, remedy does not lie in banning celebrity advertising. It is a question of adopting unethical and immoral practices by such Companies. The problem had been acute in insurance sector. Hopefully, Govt. shall build safeguards when FDI is being liberalized, more so because such practices were rampantly followed by those Companies which had foreign participation. more

PROTECTION OF CONSUMER INTEREST:-In our country, safe guard of consumer interest is not properly protected as follows. 1.Same & alike material are availalble in the market in different costs, suppose if you go on purchase of an electronic goods of same brand different shop owner will provide different rates as there is no such fixed guidelines, resulting confusion in the mind of customer. 2.Uniformity of costs of a single item is not maintaining & consumer are cheated. 3.In food item, the manufacturer are using non-permissible colour, ingrediants which affect health directly but no check,no quality management & no constant vigilance from govt.end. 4.In medicines also rates varied from shop to shop as commission varies from 2 to 5% depending upon the MRP.Thus, creates another confusion regarding the efficacy of the drug.Unfortunately no such parameter to judge accountability. 5.In real estate machinary maximum consumers are cheated due to lack of proper knowledge of national building code. Thus, comprehensive measure may be adopt to check such irregularities. more
