Convenience fees charged by airlines for online booking

When we buy air tickets online a hefty convenience fee is charged. Why? In online transactions involvement of booking staff is obviated. In fact, airlines should charge less for the tickets purchased online unless airlines want to pass the costs of site development and maintenance on to customers. Even then Rs 400 charged per passenger by the likes of Indigo is unreasonable. more

They do not bother about our concerns and will continue to charge in future also. Central Govt. should pass necessary directions in this regard. Even, IRCTC is also charging convenience charges. more

electronic bookings are the norm. it is unfair to charge convenience fee. Instead there should be a convenience discount to the customer for transacting online more

Please feel free to visit the Airline's Office (City or Airport) and Book without the Convenience Fee. If you want the convenience, be willing to pay for it. more
