Credit Card Hacked

On 01/09/2017 I received 2 Transaction Nofitications and to my surprise they were in "GBP" which I have never done and moreover the transactions happened without any OTP confirmation.

The very next day I called up the Bank and notified and the assured me not to worry, it will be settled soon.
During the conversation with the Bank official he told me 2 very strange things:
1. If the Transaction happens outside of India then the OTP Verification does not happen.
2. In order to raise a dispute we have to wait till the Vendor claims the Amount

These 2 points are totally Absurd by which it implies that if from India any one wants to "loot" you he wont be able to but an outsider has all the ease to do so, Why?
The other point why should we wait for the vendor in this case a fraud to claim the amount so that he actually get the amount to use and our Bank will lose that much amount of money if they are not able to recover it. In this way it is a direct loss of the bank and I think of our country also. more

I had faced a similar experience of transactions getting done from SBI Visa card from Canada. The Visa team coordinate said the same thing ie wait till the vendor bills them. However, you need to ensure that you give it in writing to the concerned team and keep an acknowledgement or send it through email. This is important. The Visa Team suspends the transaction for a period of 4 months by which time they get they get the bill from the vendor and the investigation is completed. Dont make the payment of the fraudulent transaction in any case. more

I had a similar incidence with Citibank credit card. One night I got an sms that my transaction failed for the renewal of Netflix account. I called up the contact center and they said not to worry as someone tried to use the expired card details. I was expecting a better answer from Citibank, global leader in banking. This means they admit to the breach in their database which is scary. Another incident happened when I received a sms that Voice authentication has been successfully activated. I called them up and again deactivated the same. Something fishy is going on and at some point of time it would surface. That is when the bank will openly admit to the disaster. more  
We should wait for more frauds as our all the information are in Aadhar Card, phone Number and everywhere. Great hacker can easily manipulate the phone number. Time is coming when bank will also refuse to return back the amount. As usual one FIR may or not be lodged by the Police. But nothing will come in favour of card holder. Gradually we will be more hapless people. more
