Cut fuel taxes and boost economy

All Petrol pumps ought to display this
Basic rate 20.50
Central govt tax 41.50(Excise Duty)
State govt tax 16.50
Distributor 6.55

Total - 85.05

If the Govt wants to boost economy just for six months, cut central Govt and state govt tax on petrol and diesel by 50% such that price of petrol and diesel is between 50-55 and see the boost.

Both central and state govts will have lower revenues, to make up lay off Govt employees in non essential departments.

Everyone please share your views and if enough ppl believe this will work request LocalCircles to conduct survey and escalate to PM. more

Due to ever increasing cost of governance, neither Central nor State Governments are in a position to reduce duties/taxes on petroleum prducts. If the Governments take bold decision of curtailing cost of governance and wastefuul expenditure by 30-40%, some space will be created to reduce excise/VAT on petroleum products. more
This is one of the main source for both Centre and State Govts. It is presumed that it is used by Rich people. Hence they will not reduce the taxes on these. more
Yes, Kajal. However the Government ensured that the media did not hype or go after this fuel disparity by steady Entertainment of SSR Case and now the NCB line up and even before that there was some or other issues which never let the common public focus on how the Central Government was raking in 100% in taxes from Petrol Pumps. So how can the States alone be blamed. Both Center and State are equal partners - I do agree that both need Funds for the activities and projects but this Fuel prices are hitting common middle class public as all food items & provisions as also vegetable prices have risen due to this. more
Yes, we have to cut fuel taxes and boost the economy. Thanks, Silpa.Yerramsetti On Thursday, 24 September, 2020, 02:45:51 pm IST, Kajal Singh wrote: more
1)If the rate is lowered the transportation will be lowered, but the commodity rate will not be lowered as there is tendency of market not to reduce the price but to earn the extra profit. While conduct ung survey after budget it has noticed that the tax benefit is not passed on to the consumer 2)If the benefit is to be passed, the rate of petrol purchased for two wheeler,be reduced (if fuel is purchased of less than 5 liter quantity at a time rate will be lower. To avoid mis use the 2 wheel ers no.to be mentioned on bill). more
