Defective LED TV by LG

I purchased LG LED TV model 32LN5150 on 28.02.2014. Just after 1 year in July 2015, display of the TV failed. Complete panel of TV has been replaced at a cost of Rs. 13,000/-. Now again after a period of about the same, display again failed in December 2016. This time it was diagnosed that the back-lit lights have failed and again I have to incur huge costs. As there are repeated frequent failures at regular interval, it is obvious that there is a problem with the particular model. Requested LG via their web site to look at this particular issue and arrange for replacement of this TV. Except for the computerised response, there is no reply. On contacting through phone, LG claimed there is no repeated failure and advised me to buy AMC for about Rs. 3000 p.a. to take care of such frequent failures. How to make such companies accountable? more

I had a similar case when the display panel of my 3 year old old LG LCD TV went blank. The cost of the TV was approx INR 13000. The cost of a new panel was quoted a INR 8500 by the LG repairs technician. My friend who is also happens to be a private repair guy for electronics told me that the new panels will carry no guarantee and will fail again in nearly 6 mnths from the date of replacement. So it was wise to buy a new TV. which I did. more

I had exactly identical experience of screen going defective just after 12 months. It had minor band of discoloration whic kept increasing with time. I even managed with defective screen for couple of months. fortunately I could get an alternative brand under some exchange offer. more
my experience with LG is equally bad.I bought a LG plasma 42" during Jan'11.It failed recently. The LG mec who called on me informed that the display panel is gone and it would cost me Rs17000/00.He also gave a buy back offer provide I go in for another LG TV.I agreed and sent copy of the bill for the defective TV.There was no response from him Then I called toll free no 1800-315-9999 and requested them for help.I was guided to one Mr.Vishnu Prasad.I contacted him and sent him copy of the bill by whatsup. There was no response despite few attempts by me.Again I contacted the toll free no and narrated my woes, they agrred to send a person to my house with in a week(which ended last tuesday itself),to assess and give me the scrap value(at least 15%of the orinal cost).Still no response.THE MATTER stands there.I have now decided to go in for another brand of TV.My simple question is why make a customer go from pillar to post without addressing his grivences?. more
