Denial of 'Cashless' hospitalization claim given to my mother Mrs.C.S.SUNANDAMMA while her discharge from hospital

Dear Sir/Madam,
Kindly note that StarHealth Insurance and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. assured and sanctioned Rs.10,000 as an initial instalment on 6th March,2015 towards, my mother's cashless hospitalization facility,at SDM hospital & Med.Science,Sattur,Dharwad-580009 on 6th.March,2015 after following their regular pre-approval data collection.
But on 29th.June.2015 when my mother was discharged from the hospital, I had a brutal surprise that the above Insurance company has denied the 'cash less' facility extended earlier.
My mother was kept as 'HOSTAGE' till 2nd.of July,2015,till I could arrange cash and pay the hospital and get my mother discharged. I have filed complaint with IRDA complaint cell with specific documents.
Waiting for justice to be heard to my ailing mother of 73 years who was traumatized by the Insurance company for three days both mentally and physically by Star Health Insurance with their 'breach of Trust and Promise'
They claim their motto 'personnel and caring'. But they acted quite contrary to their claim.
Kindly help me in getting justice to my mother and take appropriate legal action against Star Health Insurance.

There is a very Bad experience with Star Health.There are many conditions within the a undertaking we give at the time of taking the Insurance which helps the company to escape from legal angle.Finally the company will come to conclusion that the present treatment is due to the existing decease,as he was coughing very often in the past some time ,so he was Tb attacked person .The company has a set of Doctors to find the loophole and have contacts with the appellate authorities.You have to be careful in taking up your case . more

Dear all, cashless hospitalization is useless. It is only cheating legally. I had an experience last year April where my daughter delivered a baby girl. During the time of admission it is informed that she has a cashless card and she is employed in a private firm a financial consultant globally. Apart from that my son-in-law also having cashless card through his employer (Godrej). But we were asked to pay an advance of Rs.50000/-. When enquired with the hospital (Appollo-Chennai) they said both the insurance companies were in their approved list. While discaharging my daughter on the fourth day (third day after delivery) they said the amount was Rs.62000/- and we have to pay the balance of Rs.12000/- immediately,then only I could take my daughter home. I argued with them that all the details were given at the time of admission and I was made to run from pillar to post for three hours and they were very adamant that I should pay and take the re-reimbursement from the insurance later (since they get their payment only after six months). After struggling for three hours finally I made the insurance company to send a mail to hospital and they only sanctioned for Rs.46000/- and they have disallowed many things from the bill. I do not know what is the tie-up they have in cashless card with hospitals and insurance companies. Even for the refund they made me to wait for two hours. Another experience for my self with Royal sundaram Insurance. I have availed a policy of post hospitalization for two years during 2012 april and paid the amount through citi bank which initiated this.The amount was paid by swiping in my credit card over phone. When I received my policy I found that they have added a clause of renewal automatically. I kept quiet and waited the renewal time.During March 2015 some executive called me in my mobile and I informed him that I am retired from services and I do not want to renew.Shockingly Royal sundaram insurance has swiped the amount for renewal with out my knowledge and consent in my citi bank credit card. I have also received the policy and I swiftly returned the policy before the renewal date for cancellation. I was informed by mail that only Rs.100/- would deducted for cancellation and they have taken Rs750/- and returned the balance amount. It is only a pick pocketing of nature. People have to be more careful and avoid giving consent over phone and do not sign any document with out reading. Regards. K.R.Shankar more  
Stringent action should be taken against erring insurance companies. They should be levied heavy penalties at least 10 times the defaulted amount. more
