Do not trust OLX and QUIKR at all

Wife Tried selling some old furniture and home stuff on both. She Has got many more calls from scamsters than genuine buyers.

One guy even asked her to make a payment, in the guise of him making a trial transfer! There preferred payment channels are actually wallets.

I think there were some similar complaints a while back. One doesn’t realise till they go through the experience.

Consumer Affairs Ministry seems like dead Ministry. Should actually wake up and solve consumer issues. more

Why blame the platform if you're interacting directly outside it ? And making payments directly, contrary to the Platform's terms of service, and not through the platform itself ? Both platforms offer anonymous interaction which allows the Platforms to facilitate genuine transactions .... use them !!! more
Govt approves so many schemes, but the control on the schemes is not there at all. This is a sad state of affair on part of our Govt. more
Yes, I agree full - well. The Govt should look into this and take action in the matter, as required. more
Yes, many scamsters are following advertisements in OLX and Quickr and duping the public. The OLX and Quickr are just by standers. more
Yes fraudsters have to be booked and punished. Modus operandi of fraudsters prowling OLX is they ask to click a link to accept payment. However the link debits payment. I have suffered loss of Rs. 5000/-, my friend lost Rs. 10,000/- and many more such cases on OLX Particularly. Payment wallets/gateways like Razor Pay and Round Pay. This sets our minds thinking. The fact remains these crimes are never resolved and Cyber Crime Police are only show pieces. India needs to get its act together to solve such crimes, and make the criminals pay heavily. more
