Dont use OLX come what may
most people these days are using olx only to scam people. Just posted an ad & within 1 min 5 buyers ( Scammer) contacted me. And the same old technique they said they will pay in advanced and then send a QR code which will debit money from my account..:
Shame on management of such company they letting scammers run rampant. Shut and go home instead if you dont have better ideas. more

How can olx be responsible for this? If people are contacting you directly you should e cautious. But our greed steps in and if someone offers more than what we expect, our common sense takes a back seat and we fall for cheap tricks. Everyone knows that QR code scanning is for payment. Don't go around blaming system for individual greed and stupidity more

Why OLX alone. There are many property renting sites like, magicbricks;99acres etc where this is rampant. The nobroker.com has less of this. The companies involved can identify these scamsters and block th. But they do not do so as it furthers their business The first time users of thesesitesbevome victims sometimes. The phone numbers and their modus operandi are distinct and can be identified. Their registration date is old, phone numbers logo etc are easy to find out. Government shod do something to stop this. The web has become a red light area where you find only rascals, thieves and misinformers. The credibility of web is gone! more

Unfortunately Govt. remains a mute spectator in such fraudulent practices. No one ever bothered to keep a check on such unethical business activity. So far well structured rules are not framed to penalise such practice will continue. more
