Dual MRP rules flouting by airlines

I understood that after the new rules from Jan 18 airlines also had to comply with one product one price.

Many airlines are still selling food at random prices 2-5 times prices in the market.

Is this permissible? Who will hold them accountable? Can local circle do some poll and get peoples opinion on issue?? more

The concerned authorities may not be knowing Price range in airlines. In postal department there are some people working but not recognized by the ministry. When demanded for the better pay for them, the concerned authorities expressed surprise to know such employees are working/existing. Similarly the authorities may not be aware of these prices. All the VIP,VVIP traveling in air lines must be asked to certify the bill for services and items availed for payment by the concerned department. This way they may come to know the prices. Recently the Ex central minister Mr chidambaram expressed expressed unhappiness about the rates in airlines. more

Getting opinion pool is not important, but the authorities should take steps to control the irregularities, once it comes to their notice. more
An airport is a cash cow for several sectors of the economy and to get a foothold there one has to pay hefty bribes. And they are not small amounts. The whole purpose of the vendors in the airports is to recover the bribes paid and then make their profit. And they will not stop because the commercial slots in the airport are on yearly tenders. The cost will always remain astronomical. Plus the airport development charge that "officially" goes to the government. The rest is all to different "stakeholders". more

Companies are cheating by packing goods specifically for a service provider - say hospitals, cinema hall chains, etc with very high MRP compared to similar product sold by them in market. In some cases, the packaging is changed to differentiate the product from the one for general market. The service provider - say hospitals, cinema hall chains, etc then sell the same product at the highly inflated MRP price. Unless the law is changed to provide cancellation of licence to produce any product in India and compulsory imprisonment of 2 years of the CEO or Directors of the company, this rampant cheating will not stop. more
