E Retails

On Line Traders . Should we buy from them
Recently I brought Crockery Dinner set from a famous , one of the bigger ones E store Snap Deal. The crockery company Corelle provides 1 yr warranty of breakage of its products . With in one month the plate of the set chipped off . I asked the E retail people to provide me the address and phone no. of the company so that I can talk to them and get my product replaced ( The communication with Snap Deal people went for 2 months with repeated mails to and forth ) . Every time there stock answer was that company policy is to return with in 10 days .
I told them them that I don't want to return the product but only address and phone no . of the Corelle .I will my self get the product changed . BUT no Reply .( The Indian address and phone no. of Corelle was not available on line )
When I asked my local shopkeeper ,about it ,he said no problem .we will change it provided you have purchased from us .
I have decided not to buy any thing from these E retails from them unless they change their policy and provide the details of the contact who can be approached in case of after sales service and problem with product .
Now a days even local shops are selling in competitive price with assured after sales service .Why should we buy from these faceless companies . more

This is the case with all with all products . The product may be second grade ,that is the reason for selling it cheaper .Many citizens have burnt the fingers by ordering on line and not getting good service/ replacement /no service for such buy. In India e commerce has caught up but bound to fail in the long run due to not reliability and poor product quality more
Avoid buying from on line traders. There is risk even for reputed companies. more

Snapdeal is probably the worst among the lot...and its customer service is just pathetic and useless; but though we have a number of problems with, online etailers, they are here to stay and just as we have problems with the local retail store, we will have problems with them too. I can't believe that your local shopkeeper so readily agreed to replace the thing because I know how these people behave when you go to them with a problem. Now as to the situation in hand, I suggest you write to Corelle USA. I've seen that they have the email format online and in that you go to Non-US/Other. See what happens. In the meantime, you can also post your grievance on the snapdeal fb page https://www.facebook.com/Snapdeal/ I am sure your issue will be solved. In the future I would advise you to try Amazon even if the product price is a little more than others. From personal experience, their customer service is the best...They will solve your problem. more
It is time for Govt to step in. An authority to be constituted where the customer goes with damaged goods and cash receipts. A complaint is lodged forthwith. The authority gets the goods replaced and a large compensation for abuse of trust. 50% of the amount goes to authority and the balance to complainant as tax free. This should be out of ambit of law courts and simple in procedure by an Act of The Parliament. more
