eCommerce policy

Per news reports it seems that Govt has taken into account some of our inputs on regulating ecommerce sector in national ecommerce policy. There is still lack of transparency related to counterfeit goods, reviews not getting posted, refunds and returns.

every member must give their experiences and a thorough set of rules must be evolved and debated before Consumer Protection Authority is established.

MRPs are still not being disclosed for all products on ecommerce sites. Legal Metrology please answer why? more

even renowned companies refuse to accept complaints if their item is purchased from e commerce on line and not directly from them. . On lodging complaint they shirk by saying the first party is e commerce company and not manufacturer. I had purchased from amazpon a glass top stove three burner and complained about faulty pan supports. Amazon rightly replaced but with the same problem. Hectic phone calls and mails to wonderchef resulted in registering of complaint and they closed the complaint by sending something of the item complaint of through their courier. waiting for the item i found that it was delivered to some distant place in india. During hectic discussions with some representative of wonderchef I was astonished that the rep had resigned from wonderchef over their inaction. The e commerce purchases though may be easy but one cannot but with heavy heart accept the fault item worth of thousand of rupees. more
I am seller and I am also a part of All India Online Vendros Association Flipkart and Snapdeal has made a system for compliance with new norms, but they are not enforcing it by making the particular fields compulsory in back end. Also, lot of rubbish data is being put in in case of their own products. Amazon has not made the required system nor are they going to make. more
e-commerce organisations must disclose the full address of the manufacturer and country of origin of the merchandise. more
What will be the impact if the Consumer Protection Authority starts working in the lines of Consumer Courts. more
Counterfeit goods are also manufactured at brand factories. 1. Export/Premium Quality 2. Normal/Executive Quality Hence feel and touch as an important factor while purchasing product. It may not achieved at eCommerce site. Hence return policy should be in good shape. more
