Emami also profiteering

Dermi cool lavender powder by Emami was priced at MRP of 90. When Govt reduced tax rate from 28% to 18% gst code - 3304, Emami instead chose to increase MRP to 95. It should be 85 or so.

Please investigate and chances are its happened across all Emami products. more

I guess end users like us do not have a say in fixing prices of products from different manufacturers. It is manufacturers prerogative. And they periodically do, keeping in mind the competitiveness in mind. May be due to possible increase in raw materials or other ingredients and depending on the same, it is for them decide at what price they should sell at. We need to agree with Gopabandhu on this. As end users, we can always point out when sale price of a product (inclusive all taxes) gives room for suspicion with respect to tax mismatch as you have been effectively pointing out. more
If the GST is charged correctly, the company has the right to increase the price. more
Right, I agree with you.

However such increases must be based on genuine reasons and not as an adjustment price increase whenever GST is reduced. more
Government thinks for public but business houses counter them with gainful means quashing the dreams of appreciation from public.Tge government should penalise them on the stocks manufactured by them for a quarter as penality of the highest level. more
Lots of company are misusing the Government benefits and charting with the customer, they know well that no government has time to look into these issues but as a responsible citizen we have to raise our voice more
