Fake N95 masks flooding market and ecommerce

Majority of the N 95 masks selling in stores and ecommerce sites are fake per a doctoe friend. He said consumers need to look for ISO 13485 Certification from the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) accredited certification bodies

One can verify CE certification by checking the listing of notified EU Certification bodies on the NANDO website, and NIOSH certification on its website. more

I was also cheated by a company supplying face masks. I had placed my order, with full online payment, for supply of a set of 4 units of face masks. The product description had mentioned 4 layers, reusable, respirator face mask with valve (Pack of 4-4 different colours). After opening the parcel I noticed that there was no valve, all the masks are of the same colour and there is no indication of a 4-layered mask. I wanted to complain to the supplier company but there is no mention of the supplier on the packet and no contact number or E-Mail ID. The return address just mentions Chandigarh--160101. The CST Number of the supplier, as mentioned on the packet is 04BUPPD9744N1ZZ. I, therefore, wrote to the agency that had acknowledged the receipt of my payment. IN MY MAIL I HAVE MENTIONED THAT I AM NOT USING THE MASKS AND WANT THE SUPPLIER TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE MASKS FOR WHICH I HAD PLACED MY ORDER. I received an autoreply saying that this ID does not take any mails. In case someone has handled such a fraud and had succeeded in receiving the correct product or refund, please let me know of the same. Thanks. -- MUKESH VARMA more

I do agree that providing the basic necessity and infrastructure to fight the pandemic rest with govt. At the same time we as a responsible citizens do have some responsibilities toward the society. Unfortunately self serving attitude and corruption, which is top-down, have changed our ( The people who matters) attitude and they want to make quick bucks. What to talk about mask N-95, which is a protective gear to fight pandemic Covid-19, even the basic necessity are sold in the open market at exorbitant rates and we all are forced by circumstances to pay for that for our survival. Pray from almighty and take care of yourself. more
