Fasttag mandatory will cause more problems

Government of India declares FASTag mandatory w.e.f midnight of 15th/16th February 2021

Any vehicle not fitted with FASTag or without valid, functional FASTag entering into Fastag lane, shall pay a fee equivalent to two times of fee applicable to that category.

Recently did a trip to UP and despite fastag we stood in lines. Fasttag was a waste.

This will cause more problems than solve unless all toll roads in India are made to accept fast tag. Will the govt do that? more

Give some time for the system to settle. Many a times there are teething trouble and these need to be rectified. Let us see the situation after six months. more
The system need NEVER B DOWN - Fast tag data is read by local sensors - can b uploaded when power is back. ALL toll plaza rs be solarised. more
The toll collection centers should be fined heavily if the machines are not working. Secondly, if toll centers are not accepting then its their fault especially when government directive is already there. more
Although there might be advantages of tracking collection from tolls to decide till which date toll needs to be collected (?), but fasttag has not reduced waiting time at Toll Plazas. On the contrary, I have seen confusion prevailing amongst Toll Plaza staff that leads to traffic snarls and haywire queuing up of vehicles in wrong lanes. more
What will happen to fasttag holders if the system is down ? There should be token fine to the drivers having no fasttag. The fasttag holders should incentivized to attract more n more people. Punjab is a gateway to J&K and Himachal. But almost all toll plazas are damaged badly as if they had been destroyed during INDO PAK conflict. Tax payers money is free for destruction. The Governments should rise above dirty vote bank politics and ensure safety of all infrastructure for the benefit of common man as well as the Govt. of the day. more
