fraud on false promise while purchasing a product.

I have purchased a slow speed juicer of prestige make from a local dealer two months ago. This dealer had promised while purchasing this product that if the purchase value is more than 7000/- I am eligible for 500/- discount coupon which will be sent directly from the company (ITC Limited). Having waited for some two weeks I again contacted the dealer about the gift coupon promised by him giving the bill details. He said that because of no contact number the delay occurred and so asked for my mobile number and promised that I will receive the coupon in a weeks time. Waited for a week but no response. So I mailed about the issue to the customer care of the company for which I got a reply saying that I am out of station will look into it in 5 days. Waited but no response. So I mailed one more mail to the consumer grievances cell for which I got a reply saying that my mailed has been forwarded to the concerned department and will get it settled soon. Waited till date no response. So many reputed companies are making false promise to make fool of the consumers thinking that no consumer can take action against them. I am posting this issue as a consumer to get the valuable advise of the members of this circle and the guidance to go about the issue. Are we really handicapped against these cheating corporate. more

Discount coupon you referred to will have an effect only on your future purchasing of a specified product of the same company within a stipulated time frame, means, you will again require to shell out few thousand of rupees to purchase another item. Are you ready for that? If not, it would be better to confine your attention towards the performance of the product you have already possessed instead of breaking your head for the coupon. more
I fail to understand that do we buy products (such Juicer) for the sake of gift coupons? Most of the time coupons are not of much use..... If the product (Juicer) is working fine, then I would suggest not to waste time and energy on such marketing gimmicks...... more
IT IS TIME ONCE AGAIN TO BUY PRODUCTS ON MERIT AND QUALITY AND NOT ON OFFERS AND THAT TOO VERBAL ONES.WE ARE GETTING TOO GREEDY AND FORGET THAT IN PRESENT TIMES THERE ARE ARE NO FREE DISCOUNTS.THERE IS A COST ATTACHED TO IT. more
