Garnier Profiteering

Garnier is profiteering too like many other cosmetic companies. MRP of garnier facewash pre GST was 135. When tax rate was 28%

After tax rate has been reduced to 18%, garnier has chosen to increase base price and keep mrp the same thereby not passinh benefit to consumer.

Hundreds of companies are doing this. Why is naa not calling a meeting of these industry associations and conveying? more

I would like to differentiate between cheating and profiteering: Charging more taxes (GST/CGST) on sales than prescribed officially is cheating not the profit, whereas charging an unethically higher price is profiteering and should fall within the National Anti-profiteering Act (NAA) which should be dealt with severely under the Income Tax Act. Charging undue and illegally higher GST/CGST should be dealt with under Sections of cheating and looting laws. more
I do not know how once the delivery of the product comes to store how the gst can be changed.Whether any clause is there more
As per the GST Laws, "anti-profiteering measure would obligate the businesses to pass on the cost benefit arising out of GST implementation to their customers." The issue is companies are not passing on the benefits to the customers. Hindustan Unilever was slapped a fine of Rs 380 crore by anti-profiteering body. Now, it is our duty to take such cases to the authority and "Local Circles" is a correct forum to highlight the issue. more
What do you want the yo convey to reduce their profit why will they? There is no such limit on profit yo be earned on a product if they stick to the MRP before or after GST does not matter at all more
It is but natural. The price already printed in the cover and released to the market can not be changed, unless the store, where there is provision in the computer with basic price and GST. In view of that let the GST rate is printed in the cover, just near the MRP, so that the consumer can check, whether the GST has been properly applied. more
