Good job on the ecommerce survey

Must say this survey has accurately captured the pain of the consumer and how they are manipulated with 5 star reviews.

Govt must make it mandatory that no ecommerce app can reject a consumers rating for a verified purchase.

Where are the consumer ministry officials. They should be on top of this stuff. In fact they should have conducted this survey in this circle itself. more

Looking to the popularity the eCommerce companies are gaining day by day and their aggregate turn overs are surpassing several billions of rupees, the activities of these companies should have been regulated by the government long back so that the consumers' interests are protected. With the result, number of complaints against these entities are on increase every day. There are thousands of complaints pouring in regarding their unwillingness/failure to comply with the terms & conditions of the transactions stipulated by themselves as also complaints regarding supplying of duplicate/refurbished products in the name of original/new ones are on increase. There had been lot of complaints against them regarding failure to refund the money even if the items were returned for various reasons within the stipulated time frame. Under the circumstances, it is already high time that the government frame suitable laws keeping in sight the consumers' interests on top with suitable provisions for stern financial penalties against them for breach of any of the terms & conditions as well as for any kind of manipulated acts including publishing imaginary reviews to misguide/lure the consumers. more
One authority to appeal against the ecommerce activities must be provided. more
This is a good finding and a nice topic to discuss as well. I completely andorse Anshu. I do have a few point as well. e Commerce services are giving doorstep service with almost nill delivery charge. where you can return or replace goods within ten days without questions asked. Still consumer feels that he is being cheated somewhere. In fact consumers are now cheating sellers on e commerce services. Consumer is at safe side always. Seller is penalized even if consumer defaults seller. Seller replaces the new item with old item and raises refund. Online services gives refund for these items before it actually reaches to seller. The loss is of seller or e commerce service but consumer is always safe. Time has changed view of consumer should also need to change as per the current scenario. Consumer needs to know how to observe star rating. Consumer needs to be smart enough to analyse reviews. Every change needs upgradation in thoughts and skills. This is right that false reviews should be controlled but still consumer is still safe. Below are some safety points may help somebody. 1. Buy from genuine e commerce sites. like Flipkart. Amazon. Paytm,. Myntra etc. 2. Read and description, Review, ratings, and all details carefully. You do not need to go out to a shop so you get enough time to analyse. 3. Check refund policy. 4. Review seller reputation 5. compare price at different websites. 6. keep track of refund days limit to raise the return request if any problem. 7. Verified purchase tells you that the review has been placed by a buyer or it is anonymous more
There should be an ombudsman to which complaints can be made and such complaints should reflect in reviews of that particular service provider and such ombudsman should be empowered to redress the complaints more
e commerce cos are sending old stuff most of the time ? the only way is face to face across the table - and reviews of the preffered generations only ? big nautanki only ? someone u do not know his review??????? online is more cheating than anything else n GOI are the masters in it - example JUMLE KE SARKAR ? more
