GST on health insurance policies

Govt shows great effort to help sr citizens by listing in ayush maan bharat.
PM talks of jan seva shops for cheaper medicines.
Then why 18%GST is being levied on mediclaim installments.
Why sr citizens are not spared from it.
Today,s requirement is minimum 5lacs health insurance, because hospitals ask first about mediclaim policy.and use it as soon as possible. How much GST on 5 lacs premium of 75 years old person.
All hospitals are not covered with health insurance company, which provided us health cover.
50 thousand minimum deposit is generally taken at the time of admission.no matter your policy comes under cashless facility.
Reason given is always that reply by companies , we get late.
So Senior citizens have no option.
Negligence towards sr citizens can also be seen in this election too where in Congress declared 1 lac to woman but forgot sr citizens facilities like train fare concession, No GST, Free treatment.etc. more

It's high time to raise voice collectively against such wrong treatment for senior citizens. Senior citizens are incurring a huge expenditure for their health and imposing such a high GST add only pain to it. more
It is easiest way to extort money from common man. Govt thinks that life insurance a d medical insurance policies are taken by those who are well off and worry too much about their lives. The service tax was introduced by Mr. P Chidambram, FM of congress on certain items. But the cost of governance shot up over the the years and successive governments covered many services. It's expected that govt will soon impose GST on oxygen being inhaled by Indian citizens to jack up revenue collection. more
Hence please vote not for Fekuchand and party and vote for genuine candidate irrespective on party lines and make him accountable and questionable more
Please mind your language - you are definitely following in the footsteps of your youth icon Shahzada who has no manners in public life. more
definitely agree more
Unfortunately Government is not interested in helping Senior Citizens but making their life miserable. Some of Anti Senior Citizen Policies are given below: 1. Existing facility of Senior Citizen Concession for train travel has been removed. In spite of numerous petitions to PM, Railway Minister and Ministry of Railways it is not restored. Even recommendation of Parliamentary Board to restore it have been ignored. 2. Senior Citizen Savings Scheme 2004 was started as Welfare Scheme to provide a regular income stream to retirees from Private Sector who do not get pension. Interest rate was 9% in 2004, which was increased to 9.3% in April 2015 to take care of inflation. In July 2015 it was reduced to 7.4%. After numerous petitions it is now 8.2% but still less than 9.3%. Interest income is taxable. Deposit limit was 15 lakhs per individual which is now increased to 30 Lakhs. 3. Senior Citizens who managed to own a home are burdened with 18% GST on their monthly contribution towards reimbursement of common expenses in Coop. Hsg. Society if it exceeds 7500. In large societies monthly maintenance expenses are more and increase manifold for painting, replacement of lifts etc. There was no service tax earlier. There should be no GST as Cooperative Housing Societies are not commercial or business entities, which has been confirmed by various High Court and Supreme Court judgements. 4. Senior Citizens with permanent disability exceeding 40% are not eligible for concession in Vande Bharat Trains. All petitions to PM and concerned Ministers over last 10 years have fallen on deaf ears. more
