GST Registration for E Commerce website

Hi!
I want to know whether GST registration is required to start a retail online grocery store to sell fruits, vegetables, household needs, body care needs etc to serve the requirements of a small area, say a town. It will operate within 30 km range, within a district, within a state. In NE India, where the threshold limit is 20 Lakh. Can you please explain how it will work, which law is applicable. What is TCS ? Who is an e commerce agretator ? Whether it is applicable to it ? Very confused ? Please help me out.

Thanks. more

It is safe and beneficial by way of input tax credit , if you register GST. Also some of the retail sellers wont give you products if you are not registered with GST. So please register GST and start the business. Auditors will help you to register more
GST registration probably required for products other than loose vegetables and turnover above 40 lac as an individual...else trade licence should be enough From: "Swarup KumarDeyChoudhury"connect@localcircles.info Sent:Sat, 14 Mar 2020 00:20:50 +0530 To: t_chatterjee4@rediffmail.com Subject: "GST Registration for E Co..." more
Anyone doing e commerce business is required to get GST registered. There is no exemption in turnover. Normal physical stores with turnover upto 40 lakhs is exempted from taking registration in some states. This exemption is not available for e commerce. TCS is not applicable in your case. It is applicable only when other sellers are also selling through your website like Amazon Flipkart . You can avail input tax credit for your purchases and so the tax implications will be minimum. You have to be ell versed in computer knowledge to do e commerce. So filing of monthly returns of GST will not be a problem for you. So happy selling and success. more
