Hospital Unethical practices with Covid-19

Many states have capped prices after you circle members raised this issue but there is a problem. Manh hospitals are still not giving price capped beds to people and instead pushing them to bigger rooms and uncapped charges. To me that is also corruption and the survey below should capture.

Hospitals are run by business people. Doctors work there . They will be removed if target is not met. Target is Hospitalise more and get more money . They do give incentives for more business. It happened with me . My father fell unconscious at a consultation room Op section & hills hospital. Since it is father we were more attached and more worried. Requested the doctor to do the needful for betterment of father. He was admitted in ICU for 4 days. Charged Rs 50000. later dis charged. Later the hospital papers were seen by a Doctor friend and started laughing . He said that cost of One spoonful of sugar is Rs 50 000. It was low sugar levels that caused sudden illness to my father. Doctor has intelligently used the situation to meet his target. It is not only money, the amount of mental torture in the name of ICU. more
Time and again this sort of complaint keeps occuring . Isn't there any one in the Government interested to stop this . Making money at the death bed . In hotel business if regular rooms are not available and costlier rooms are only available , there is a system of offering the costlier rooms at rate lower , to avoid non occupancy . Hospitals can at least resort to such . Having brought the case to the hospital without enquiring the rates puts the patients in a difficult situation . One advice to all of us : KEEP A TRACK OF THE COST STRUCTURE OF THE HOSPITALS , EVEN BEFORE GETTING INFECTED SO THAT WE CAN BE COOL WHEN WE HAVE TO GO FOR TREATMENT . more
How a hospital does illegal practices? It is because they get support from big bosses. They donate some to the political bosses and extract money from common people. If our Government system is up to the mark, then they can't able to it. My experience with private hospital is like in local level they employed some muscle men/women to tackle people at hospital premises, so they control the patient and their family member, then donate to political neta's fund and they are above the law. Sometimes some action is taken but it so meager, does not affect private hospital. We need more and more facilities even by paying money in Government System. Otherwise it will happened. We would write in the different platform and nobody will care. Super rich and super power-wala people have no problem. Who bothers about cattle class? A Samudra Himalaya the problem is same. more
Private Hospitals have not changed their mentality. They are still trying to generate as much income they can. First they are refusing to accept COVID patients and if at all accepting, it is with specific condition. Un-necessarily they are keeping them under ICU or with ventilator, to charge big amount. more
Sh. Shankar Shukla, you have hit the nail on the head. Mera kya attitude has been troubling us for many generations and is difficult to get rid of it in one generation. We require real hard punishments for even small things like jumping the que or going on wrong side of the road. This practice should last for about 50 years so that a large majority of active population will fall in line. Most problems will then just fade off. more
