They share a link with you and wipe your account out. Worst they spoil name of forces like Indian Army. What is the govt doing ?

The cyber cell has not done anything big to stop cyber criminals, only enjoying the time. more  
Instead of blaming the government for everything, we should first of all control our greed. Caution and warnings are being regularly issued by the concerned banks as also other agencies at regular intervals advising "do's and don'ts" to meticulously follow by account holders. If those guidelines are meticulously followed, 99.9% if not 100% of such frauds could be averted. more  
If all citizens become cautious and intelligent, there may not be need of law enforcing agencies at all. It's good to be cautious but there will be some %age of 139 crs who are simple and gullible, I think for them the govt needs to act. more  
Only if government brings a 'shoot the fraudster' order to tackle such fraud, these will stop. more  
The financial frauds are increasing at a fast pace as there are no effective laws to put behind bars such criminals for atleast 5 years. Even in stock/commodity markets or job providers are looting the public by making false promising and disappear after taking money. more  
Similar case happened with me when I posted the ad to rent out my flat. This guy told that he is from India Army and just shifted in the city and want to take my flat on rent. He was also in tearing hurry to close the deal and asked me to scan the QR code so that he can pay the rent advance. I could sense that this is fraud case as why I need to scan QR code to receive the money. In fact out of curiosity, I scanned the QR code and it said send money to some lady. When I confronted, he changed the tone and started abusing me. One interesting thing in my case was that he said that he wanted to send 1 rupee to my account and once I confirm that I have received it, he will send rest of the money. On the face of it, it looks like even if I had gone ahead and completed the transaction, I would have lost only 1 rupee. But these guys are very smart. Before sending the QR code, he asked me to check my account balance so that I can know when 1 rupee was deposited. When I was checking account balance on my phone, looks like he had control of my phone and must have seen how much balance I have. When he sent QR code, he might have masked the actual amount using some advanced software which displayed only 1 rupee to me but actually represented my entire account balance. more
