How to control airlines harassment while booking tickets?

Nowadays air tickets are being booked through the airlines site concerned and many private sites. Three days before I opened the goindigo site to book to and fro tickets. The to charges are more than double the amount of the fro (return) fare. Why it is so?. Why they are charging such exorbitant fare for one side?. Who will question them?. Why nobody is question them?. Besides in the fro charges they notify inbetween the addition of convenience charges!!!!!.

Moreover the booking browser is totally controled by the indego employees. They are fast moving the steps before understanding what has to do.? Intially they have options for vaccination. 10 percentage discount. They should also mention at this stage that if anyone books the ticket they have to mention the beneficiary reference number. So that the customers can keep ready all the relevant data before booking the tickets. But it is not. When we select and proceed further, then only they are asking about the beneficiary number details. As we are not aware to keep ready about the beneficiary number details, If we close the site for some time and opens again, it will automatically skip the stage. It displays that one should follow covid norms. If we click ok and proceed for booking they ask for selection of seats. Hence we presume that it has taken the vaccination fare. But it is not. Cleverly it will skip the vaccination benefits step and book the tickets under regular fare at the end. Ultimately the ticket will be booked in regular fare only!!!!!!. without any discount,.!!!¡!!!. Further No free seats are available, though there is a provision is given in the site. All are priced. The price ranges from 150 to more than 1000. Why one has to pay seat charges? What for we are paying the hefty ticket charges?. What it's purpose? Airlines should not charge any money to provide seats to the passengers. It is the responsibility of the airlines to provide seat to the passengers free. It is too much harassment. The fare displayed at the site at the beginning will be increased by adding somany charges in the subsequent stages and when at the billing stage it reaches entirely different.? Why such drama and why they are cheating the public?.
The fare which is displayed at site should be final. No additional charges should be levied while booking the tickets. So that one will have idea about the actual fare to be paid. If required the airlines can add rs 100 per ticket as services or handling charges. No other additional charges beyond the displayed amount should be levied. The mentioned fare at the time of opening should remain as final at the time of payment for booking.
Who will look into the such irregularities being done by the airlines?. Ultimately public are levied with all infrastructure charges. If we travel in the train or bus, they never impose any infrastructure charges on the passengers. Why in airports only?. It is a public service. It is the responsibility of the service provider to provide all the basic requirements free of cost for the safety and security of the passengers using the facilities.
This present air travels concept should be changed and it can be regulated by the government only.
So as a common problem one should raise the voice to address the problems to our government. more

Cheating, excess charging by various means like Convenience charges etc have become order of the day, under the very nose of the Civil Aviation Ministry. Or have the said Ministry given blanket permission toe Airlines to charge passengers according to their whims & fancies? more  
Cheating has been a habit with many airlines. The department of civil aviation should not note and initiate corrective action. more  
I agree with the post here. I have had the bad experience of travelling by GoIndigo recently. They charge for everything including the seat. It is not that their charges are cheap. I travelled from Chennai to Hyderabad and back with 4 months interval. The return fare was 1000 Rs more than the onward journey for two tickets. While going at least for the middle seat, plastic apron was provided and all of us were given face masks, face shield and hand sanitiser. On the return nothing was provided and also in both journeys all the seats had been filled. As Sri Thangavel says, that while booking it harries you and says book quickly as this fare will change in 2 minutes. These are certainly very cheap tactics. Now, this appears to be the only airline in many sectors and therefore, they do whatever they want to. Very sad. more  
Are standing passengers allowed in aircraft ? NO. Can i get my own seat like one carries one's own bedding in trains ? NO. Can I handwrite my boarding pass. NO. In that case what is integral to a safe repeat safe and complete flight cannot be charged extra and should be total cost of ticket which must include access to airport, luggage check in, waiting area, security check , toilets, passage till aircraft, boarding passes, seating , drinking water, luggage handling and deboarding safely untill one is out of the terminal etc. From 'entry to terminal till exit' all 'INESCAPABLE' services must form part of ticket otherwise it is extortion by coercion which i think is a crime and not business. Only inessential but extra comfort facility which some passengers desire may be provided on payment. Time this thuggery is stopped by the aviation minister who after offloading of Air India definitely can devote attention to this important public interest matter. more  
if this is true it means DGCA(Directorate General of Civil Avation) is not monitoring these overcharging.May I ask Shri Thangavel to email DGCA, New Delhi on this issue. more
