HUGE DIFFERENCE IN MRP ON PRODUCTS ORDERED ONLINE AND THOSE AVAILABLE IN LOCAL MARKETS

I wish to bring out the huge difference in MRP when ordered online and when bought from market on the same product.

Recently, I ordered WHEEZAL CALENDULA NECTAR PRICKLY HEAT POWDER - PACK OF 4 - 100 GMS EACH on Snapdeal. The price quoted was Rs.479/- plus delivery charges of Rs.29/- minus some discount of Rs.7/-, net payable Rs.501/-.

The item delivered was WHEEZAL TOOTH POWDER an I returned the same. The item was collected and I got the refund well in time.

However, when I checked up in Gurgaon, the price of 100 gm pack was only Rs.75/-, which for a pack of 4 would amount to Rs.300/- only. Compare it with Rs.479/- quoted online.

Besides convenience, one of the purposes of ordering products online is to get competitive prices. However, if my experience is anything to go by, these online suppliers are overcharging and looting the customers by hugely inflated prices.

It will be noticed that there is a huge difference in the price quoted online and the prices prevailing in the local markets. This raises serious questions about the MRP prevailing on products ordered online. It appears that the companies put two MRPs on their products - one for sale online, which is hugely inflated, - and other for sale in local shops which is much less. If this is so, this is a serious malpractice and a criminal act on the part of the manufacturers. I hope the concerned authorities will look into the matter.

Does this mean that we should stop ordering products online and return to the age old practice of buying products from local markets???????

Needs serious thought!!!!!! more
