In authorised debut under SMS charges SBI

Regarding Bank charges levied under title ‘ SMS charges for “
I and my family members hold few accounts with SBI. To my surprise in one of the account charges for SMS has been charged for the first time, on Enquiry with the Branch, asked to submit a letter to cancel mobile messaging facility and promised the amount will be credited back. However on submission of a letter, was told that reply will be sent by mail. However, no such charges was levied in other accounts and also in the list of service charges as appearing in SBI WEBSITE No such charges are leviable. Request all to share the experience more

Tax deductions are made on interest earned on Fixed deposits but entries are not made in pass book( not visible in transactions too). We can find out the deductions from other sources but passbook(Transactions ) entry will be more handy. more  
Its true that the quality of customer service of the largest bank of the nation is at the lowest ebb in present days. Pay packets of the employees are getting fat every five years making them more and more insensitive and non-cooperative towards the customers, the sources of their breads and butters. But as far as service charges are concerned, I think more or less all the commercial banks are sailing in the same boat being on the brink of other sources of income and high non-performing assets (NPAs) sharply eroding their capital and profitability coupled with increasing establishment expenses. more

SBI ,the highest branches in India with non cooperative service ,manner less staff and never bother even to reply the email. I am writing last eight months to know what is the balance home loan amount left to be paid but no reply. Really hopeless. more  
What I feel is that this is the duty of the Bank to keep the customers apprised with the transactions happening in their accounts, and therefore, why there should at all be the need of levying of Service Charges for SMS facility. By getting messages, customers get confirmation of their transactions and they don't visit the branches every now and then for small small issues. This is the need not only for the customers but for the Bank also. With SMS, lot many fraudulent transactions could be saved in the interest of customers as well as for Bank too. Just paying 3-1/2% interest in Savings Bank A/c and further more levying of SMS Charges is not at all justified. It requires to be challenged legally. more

RBI has certain role to play in this issue. What is the RBI Guideline / Instruction to Commercial Banks?
Can anybody throw some light on this matter? more
