For people with borderline sugar and age above 55, what tests should be done for kidney functioning. Are there any comprehensive physical exams that over it? more
Hello Mr Chopra. Sorry for the late response. Have not had a chance to be online recently. I would suggest urine for microalbumine at least once a year if not biannually. and if you are worried about kidney disease, get the eyes tested. retinopathy develops prior to, or simultaneously as nephropathy. so that would help. other tests like urea, creatinine etc are more specific, but occur later. hope that answers your query. further questions are invited. more
This is a response to the comment by Dr CK Gosain: Blood urea and creatinine may be out of range because of other deficiencies in the body and not necessarily only due to kidneys. I think people should go in for these unnecessary regular tests only if they have a problem and only if advised by thier doctor. more
The treatment will depend upon the condition of the patient or the stage of disease, availability of the treatment system, the support system available with the patient. There is no doubt that in an advanced stage of CKD, the modern medicine has no solution. It only helps the patient to systematically damage themselves further. I know about homeopathy and ayurvedic treatments a bit. Both of them may help the patient without any side effects. There is a vaid in dehradun who has been successfully treating CKD with 70-80% sucess rate. (If CKD is due to an infection, moderm medicine will work well) more
