Loot on vaccine via private hospitals

So, after all the claims vaccinations for those between 18 and 45 years are limited to private hospitals. So, Rs 1200/person if Covishield and Rs 2400/person if Covaxin. You can be sure that even after one year, not more than 50% will be vaccinated in India. more

Present time is such that more and more people should get vaccinated at the earliest. Many a people are capable of paying and hence they can resort to payment method. Atleast that many will be free from this epidemic. This is such a gigantic task that you have to ignore so many things. Otherwise later on we will be "Penny wise pound foolish". We have to save more and more lives. Even this will reduce load on Oxygen, Ventilators, ICUs and Hospital Beds. Even Lockdowns and in turn Economy and precious time lost. more
Central Government has messed up the situation by its pricing policy. Every other country vaccinates its citizens free of cost. SII CEO admitted that he earns a profit even at the sale price of Rs.150/- to the government. So what & where is the need to fix the price of vaccine at higher rate and that too at a time when common man's financial is impacted during this trying time. Height of stupidity is now government requests the manufafturers to reduce the price. PM has badly failed on this count more
There are people, who are ready to pay and to tell others that they had taken vaccine worth 'so-much' and had spent another 'so-much' towards 'such and such', although free Govt. facilities were available at their door-step. Is it not detrimental to one's prestige, if he/his family submit themselves or stand in 'Q' with your/neighbours' servants? however, I have been a shameless person to receive the vaccine from a Govt. facility, but was feeling ashamed that I could have paid some amount to the Govt. Hospital - but, found no such provision. more
Law of Economics will come into play sooner than latter. There are other players knocking on the door for entry: Sputnik(Russia), Moderna( Pfizer:US) and a couple of other home products. Price War would ensure that the Customer will have choice. Already SII has knocked off price by Rs.100/- offering Covishield at Rs.300/- to States. The 30% of Rich population would not mind paying premium for a shot of imported vaccine and flaunt it in FB and Social Media that they had a Rs.2500/- Shot and are Super Safe. So the loot as you term it Ms.Maheshwari would be just a short term profiteering by people who don't have a conscience. more
This has given an opportunity to the private hospitals to take advantage. more
