Looting & Monopolistic working of DTH service providers.

Dear Sir,

I want to draw attention that almost all DTH service providers are looting their customers and adopting monopolistic tactics. The very purpose of payment per channel is defeated since these service providers are giving channels with base packs only. No sooner the validity of your recharge is exhausted they will stop all the channels even free channels. Sometimes altough payments made through online using mobile apps but not being reflected at their end and by the time it is visible to them they will stopp all the channels. At least free channels that too DD channels should not be stopped by these DTH service providers.

My second suggestion is that necessity of taking base pack should be abolished and the customers should be given liberty to watch the channels they want to see.

Lastly I'd request Govt. of India to introduce portability in DTH sector also so that if one service provider is not giving satisfactory services then the customer has the choice to switch to other service provider, in turn this will lead to competition amongst DTH service providers and compel them to improve their services to be able to remain in the business as we have seen in mobile network sector.

Thanks,

Pramod Kumar more

These operators are like telecom companies. They came to control once JIO has come. Now in DTH too some big players entry only threaten them. more

hefty service charges for their each visit should abolish make it their part of service more
True, DTH distribution has gone into the hands of Monopolistic companies & goonda franchisees. When I was out of city for few months, Dish TV simply disconeetd service & banned it for One Year without informing the same , when I returned the Dish TV & Franchisee accepted money for 2-3 moths recharge & did not restarted service, nor refunded the money. They asked to change the set- top box by paying further 1000 Rs without deputing technician. Every month, they send reminder to recharge account, but do not heed my complaints , even of the distributors.Reply is same Pay & Change Set-top Box. Tata sky charges more than other DTH services, but discontinues several channels of Sony, SAB,DD Ten Sport Neo-sport companies suddenly & asks that these are now Pay-Channels. more
The government should actively consider the suggestion for portability. more
