Reporting from chennai here. See how this company here was putting fraud bis marks on lighting.
We all in this circle must report such fraud bis isi mark when we see them.
They will have to pay 2 lakh fines which I would urge BIS to increase it to 25% of the total turnover of such companies.

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO BIS. I shall be urging to BIS to set minimum targets to their various branches/units for detection of counterfeit products as also BIS norm deviated/hoodwinked products, with wide publicity of such companies, preferably with the names of CEOs, Directors inter alia. more

Perhaps we are lagging behind in initiating quick and stern actions against all such dishonest traders. However, we, the consumers are also directly or indirectly responsible in encouraging such illegal and fraudulent activities by keeping our eyes closed and on being prepared to compromise on vital issues if the offers are unbelievably cheaper. more

Mr Daniel's observation is wrong. BIS officials take prompt action. Such unfounded statements do more harm . Why are we becoming so skeptical. more

Similar to above in lot of cities this would be happening not only in lights but in other items also.BIS need to wake up to reality especially work with customs for goods which are imported from china and see where it goes and then check what is the whole import about more

Why can't we citizens be more vigilant and report such violations. Government should also establish a Unified Central Helpline from where such complaints can be forwarded to the concerned department/person/company etc. more
