Maximum Retail Price (MRP)

We have noticed the MRP is exhorbitant specially in Medicine, Crackers, Hardware Goods. Pharma Sector has 100% MRP increased, even you get 20% discount, the dealer makes a huge profit of 80%, then there is cut for doctors, specially in all Branded Hospital. Hardware and Crackers are Everyone would have experienced. Why the Govt is not planning to curb such unfair trade practice.
Apart from this All FMCG product prices have increased 30% to 40 % within 6 months.
Modi Government has failed in this front, despite doing very good work in other field. more

Business people are fixing MRP at their sweet will. There is no Govt say while fixing MRP. This is the biggest lacuna. Govt must look in to it. more
This is a definite loophole that most of the FMCG take advantage. This is happening for decades but nothing has been done so far. It clearly shows the corruption in the entire system which all the stakeholders(except the consumers) unwilling to change because they are benefitted through it. more
Better you verify the price trends of FMCG, vegetables, various food items and other essential commodities for a couple of decades last. You will find that the present trend is no different from the past. Because of increase in the consumers price index since last six months or so, we have become restless and started finding the government's faults in controlling the prices forgetting that the consumers price index was in double digits while the present government took over the reign of the country and very successfully it brought the index down and maintained it to around 2% continuously for more than five long years. While we talk about the present prices, we also forget that not only our country but the entire globe is fiting with an epidemic for last 20 months forcing all activities and normal life to a standstill. Under such a frightful situation going prices of essential commodities up is a normal process. The situation is not yet normal and no one can guess as to when we will be able to lead a normal life as earlier. Once the situation starts normalisation, we can expect the prices coming down. more
Because of CORONA, the market is dull and business community are taking advantage by increasing the price tag. more
There is no political will to control the prices.Businessman believes earning the maximum when its time to earn.Hell with public.Everyone has his share so the authority is happy to earn too more
