Medical consumer rules

Most doctors donot explain the explain the problems or risks of an operation or adverse effects of medicines . For an operation they get the indemnity signed just before the patient is rolled into the hospital theatre. It must be made mandatory doe doctors to explain the risks involved.
The other issue is often they prescribe tests which are unwarranted. Its because of various reasons the main one being that they get a cut from the test fees from
Lab or hospital.
There must be consumer hospital rules more

Doctors have no time to talk to the Patient in detail pros / coins of illness or operation, they are after more pacients to see and earn money .  Many Doctors have become more or less commsercial and they treat peciants as  Commercial Comunity/ Comodity . VERY TRUE. ALSO THE , MANY TIMES, REFUSE TO ACCEPT RECENTLY DONE INVESTIGATIONS AND INSISTS ON FRESH TEST TO BE DONE AT THAT ESTABLISHMENT OR THEIR SPECIFIED LABS. more
Basically if there are labs attached to hospitals, this malpractice will stop as cut money will not be in picture at all. Again, as far as possible, private practice of doctors must be banned as prevalent abroad. All doctors are attached to hospitals. Everyone needs to be covered insurance either personally or through corporates. It has to be direct settlement between the hospital and the insurance company. In order to eliminate fraudulent claims, there has to be mechanism to penalise the offenders with punitive measures. Of course, hospitals and doctors must discharge their duties with ethics, I mean, they need to brief the patients about the treatment to be given and not to prescribe unwarranted lab tests. more
Doctors never say no to money. When Doctors are offered all these extra money by the pathology and pharmaceutical companies, why should they object. Our Government is not that prompt to stop this unless the people feel the pinch. more
What can one expect when many doctors study in private medical colleges which charge upto 1 crore for MBBS and 2C and more for post graduate studies? They will see that money as an investment and try to rake back that money as return on investment. Straightforward business. Rather sad. more
