Mention of Price per unit Weight/Volume prominently on packaged items

Most often, while purchasing packaged food or household items, it is an arduous task searching out the weight/volume and the MRP which may be shown separately and in small font. I also like to search the most price-wise competitive brand available. I suggest that the following items be clubbed together and shown at one place on the pack (a) Weight or volume (b) MRP (c) Cost in Rs per 100 gramme or per 100 ml (d) Manufacture date (e) Expiry date or Best Before date.

2. For example, take Toothpaste which come in different brands and different sizes ranging from 50 gm to 300 gm. I would like to compare the cost. I cannot carry a calculator to the shop and start computing the relative costs there. It is possible only when If the cost is given on the package itself in terms of price per unit weight or volume.

3. I further suggest that the particulars mentioned above are shown prominently in big fonts within a rectangle -shaped box on the package to make it immediately noticeable. more

BENCH MARK PRICE is more important than MRP. MRP instead of protecting consumer interest it has become a tool to loot consumer. From: Someshwar Nath Sent: 09 October 2018 08:43 To: micro_machines@yahoo.com Subject: "Mention of Price per unit..." more
Yes, manufacturer must print weight, date of manufacturing, date of expiry and mrp on bold easily readable way. Medicine manufacturers must print expiry date and name of medicine on every inch of strip. more
I fully endorse the suggestions made by Shri Someshwar Nath. Will the concerned authorities look into these and issue appropriate instructions to the manufacturers? All the data so displayed should be in a Font size which is easily readable by the customer. more
