METERS SPEED AND THEIR CALIBRATION CERTIFICATE WITH CONSUMER.

do consumer has no right to ask and have calibration certificate of electric meter, which is being used tp measure the units consumed in house or shop.
if u go to MSED. THEY WILL HANDOVER YOU A FORM, AND TELL TO RECORD ONE MONTH READINGS.THET HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY. IF THEIR METERS ARE NOT GIVING RIGHT RESULTS , SHOULD THEY NOT CHECK AND REPLACE WITH NEW ONE. CONSUMER PAYS APPROX 25000/- YEAR FOR LIGHT BILL. NO MATTER METER IS FAST AND GIVING WRONG READINGS.
CONSUMER COURTS ITS SELF SHOULD ISSUE LETTER TO MSED, OR ANY OTHER AGENCY TO GIVE CALIBRATION CERTIFICATE OF METERS TO CONSUMERS.HOW ONE CAN BELIEVE. more

Its a Common public issue Found in Maharashtra also but the Neighther the Opposition Nor the Government is Serious at this Loot made by Electric department. The Concern Guilty Officer should be Punished for lethargy and not doing his Job. The third Party Check of the meter must be allowed to do. more
A very valid issue has been raised by Mr Satyapal Singh. None of us is aware and sure as to whether we are made to pay every month correct price for the power we have actually consumed or we are simply made preys of the State Electricity Boards, who are duping us! I feel its a common case of public interest nation-wide and therefore, the Supreme Court itself should come forward and issue suitable guidelines to all the state governments to get the metres installed by the state electricity boards as well as private electricity boards at the consumers' end verified by qualified technicians and issue suitable certificate to the effect that the metre(s) installed is in order in all respects and power consumption is correctly calibrated. more
Thanks for raising this issue which is very important affecting all across the society. State electricity boards or such authorities providing the service should certify the meter at least once in a year stating that the meter got calibrated on such date with the tolerance level as stated. more
Electric department will not check the meter at regular interval regarding proper functioning, nor take correction steps. more
