MI TV 4A - Oreo Update

All (pls join me if your case is same as mine),
I have purchased MI TV 4A from www.flipkart.com. While purchasing the product, It was listed in the display page of the product that "All MI 4A TV's WILL GET ANDROID TV OREO 8.1 UPDATE GOOGLE PLAYSTORE & CHROME CAST BUILT-IN IN 2019". I believed this information to be true & purchased the product on this assurance. But, it is almost an year after my purchase & this update was not provided from the manufacturer. I am not sure whose owns the responsibility to provide the update. But, I feel Flipkart is responsible for this as it was listed in their website & hence registering the grievance on Flipkart. more

Thanks all, Some ppl have asked why did I got cheated - First of all, I know this may be fake, but still purchased it bcoz I needed a TV ! & I was ready for this fight with flipkart at the time of purchase itself. I've already raised this with NCH few days before so that I've started the proceedings within the warranty period. While getting cheated is some one's lack of knowledge, Also, let us not fail to understand / learn that - IT's A CRIME to TRY TO CHEAT consumers. No Matter in speaking that why can't we do enough research, why are you believing online etc... more

Your question is VERY IMPORTANT, During the time of purchase all are ready to give guarantee and other commitment, but after delivery no one is ready to take responsibility. I think we need more transparency in govt policy. Prior to sale of the products - all should decide their responsibility. more
Flipkart is an online sales platform. You should have also checked the technical details on the Manufacturers website also before purchase. If it was mentioned on the manufacturers website also then be rest assured it will be done. It often takes time for the manufacturer to upgrade and customize the software to specific model. The update will be provided to you OTA (i.e. over the internet / wifi. You can try updating the software on your TV. IF it is not yet released then you can check on the manufacturers website as to when the update is being released. It is manufacturers responsibility and not the seller's to provide the updates. However if you find out that the seller has lied to you and you have the proof for that then you file a cheating case against the seller. more
