It is a question of reading through elaborate product specifications, that can be hard to understand for more than 98% of the users of ecommerce sites. It can confuse to go through myriads of products on multiple websites, with different price points and packages. We can put more pressure on ecommerce sites to be more clear and specific, by providing templates. The simple communication i receive from credit card companies to pay their credit cards often are misleading - as they do not follow the gudelines, by use language in the law to provide misguiding payment information to their customers. They must not use the language, but use the spirit of ease of consumer shoppng and payments. Solution 1: Consumer to double confirm every feature, costs, hidden clauses and package selected (by using yes / no). This post is not helpful. more
For any misleading advertisements, the ecommerce should be penalised. more
When the department knows the negatives of any AD why they are not taking any action? It is not necessary that some one has to complain for taking an action. Sue o moto action can be taken. Like Coca Cola, Pepsi and other packed items are banned in Canteen of Parliament. Why not in India? Does this means we are expendables? more
Sale of products by tall claims, when it doesn't even match 50%, the consumer by writing a complaint with cc to consumer forum, should be suffice instead of the draconian process. If the manufacturer is clear, he should come and show in public the efficiency of the product as per advertisement. Else the manufacturer, advertiser and the celebrity in the Ad should be severally held responsible. Consumer has to say the product not as publicized in the Advt. It's the duty of all three to prove in a week's time max. On the product supplied to the customer more
There should be complaint redressal mechanism Like ombudsman more
