Missing MRP on individual medical items

Attached pictures are an example of an imported medical product (it is a glue used as a replacement for stitches needed in case of injury) where individual item has no MRP but the box of 5 does. Box Costs about Rs. 10000. As there is no individual price, some hospitals and their pharmacies charge what they deem is right.

NPPA needs to bring all such items under mandatory MRP disclosure on individual unit and then work with Legal Metrology to ensure enforcement on ground. more

MRP disclosure is necessary and is mandatory more
Allow me to share this incident: After knee surgery my wife was advised to use cold packs for reducing area swelling with the help of cold packs. A pharmacy in Green Park offer TYNOR brand hot and cold pack, labelled at Rs. 496 per pack of one piece. But the salesman was ready to settle for Rs 420. Urgency made us buy one piece. The physiotherapist however suggested simultaneous use of 3 to 4 cold packs. Friends suggested checking prices in pharmacies in Yusuf Serai too. One pharmacy quoted Rs.380 and another not 50 yards from that one wanted only Rs. 320 (even though the MRP on both packings was printed as Rs.496). Strangely, the brand was the same, the packing the same and the product the same. Folks, where do we go from here? What is the ACTUAL significance of MRP?....I ask myself! more
1.May be the concerned departments are not having sufficient staff and funds to check each and every product . 2. May be they can not act unless they get a complaint. If we complain it will be useful in both the situations. In fact one app may be designed to give complaint and that may be handy to the public as every one is having a mobile. more
MRP disclosure is mandatory in India. However, we are still in state where we are used to see imported products without MRP and are Kind of OK with it. Also, these trends leads to counterfeiting as well. Kudos Sachin for pointing it out more
brother right question as per import terminology and after paying necessary duties and customs they have to set certain pricing where an individual person he / she can understand the actual pic price not box price / by 5 pcs.in this regards we have to start sending mails or messages to the marketing and importing companies asking about the actual pricing.and importantly writing reviews in their websites... more
