Municipal water unfit

For direct drinking for 97% of the households in the country is such an honest and real finding as published today in news papers. Super thing is that it is a Localcircles survey finding.

Can we have a discussion on what would it take to become 20%. Most developed countries people consume water direct from tap….We can and should too.

I think most of us have become slow and lethargic that we dont even demand anything from authorities any more. We wait someone else to demand. Time for introspection. more

Hi Can you please tell me what in your view or by research is consumable water. Your example of developed countries consuming water direct from taps can be proved otherwise because there are cases of high lead and other contaminants found. So please explain as to how this corporation water is not consumable with valid reasons and study material. Absolutely correct … we have to be more vigilant and vocal to wake up and shake up the authorities into doing something for the good of the population. Well done LC. more
I agree with u madam with the concern, state government has to take steps to provide pure drinking water directly to the household more
I appreciate the point raised by Sarita Ravichandran. Providing fresh drinking water is the responsibility of the state and I'm sure states will ensure that. This would entail the states to provide hygienic drinking water so that people don't fall sick after consuming the same. It's a Herculean task which the states have to manage within it's resources. more
Water supply deptt. in every State and Civic Body should be made accountable for any lapse. What for we are paying taxes if we don't get clean water throughout the year ? Our Law Breakers should curtail freebies and invest heavily on water supply schemes. more
