Muscle Strain ( pain) in left foot while walking

I didn't walk much for last 5 days as I was preparing for some exam and was sitting mostly
at home.

Now after 5 days, I am having pain in my left foot while walking.
(Pain in middle part of foot while walking.)
I am not able to walk properly, this foot is not able to take any load.
I am walking with one foot.

Otherwise there is no pain when sitting.
I can see minor swelling.

This pain is may be because I was sitting cross legs most of the times , keeping left foot under right leg in one position for continues hours.

Tomorrow I have exam, in Delhi and I need to walk.
What should I do? more

Renuka. I have already answered your above querry: "Should I visit Orthopedic or physiotherapist? how one should decide.". "The normal protocol is that any pain like yours which is persisting in the foot for long. You must see your Orthopedic Doctor. On advice of your Orthopedic you have to go to a Physiotherapist. The Physiotherapist are there to follow up Orthopedic patients. After that you can carry on with Physiotherapist without going to the Orthopedic Doctor unless the problem still exists." more

Considering the pain is not from an accident you could consider a Physiotherapist. An Orthopedic would generally add a Pain Killer and muscle relaxant such as Voveran or any other with a Diclofenic Salt which you can have on SOS basis. Ask your physiotherapist to put you on electro-therapy as it would be able to give you better results and have you back on your foot in days rather than a week. more
Thanks everyone, I followed hot and cold compress, it was a good relief and could walk yesterday. But pain is still there, I am not able to put load on this foot while walking. There is no pain otherwise when I am sitting. Should I visit Orthopedic or physiotherapist? how one should decide.. more
