OMC taking away Debit Card discount on petrol

the oil marketing companies are supposed to give 0.75% discount to those who buy fuel on debit card.

despite govt rule, many have reduced this discount from 0.75 to 0.25% and many are looking at not giving any discount.

can consumer ministry please look after such things proactively. if all can report their experience in real time with all omcs in next 1 week when u buy fuel, the ministry will have the data. more

I purchased petrol worth Rs 1000/ from M/s Welcome Autos, TIN 07820203333, J Block, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi-110027, a Bharat Petroleum Dealer on 23 Sep 2018 at 1532 hrs and paid through Debit Card. No discount was allowed by the dealer, even after informing him about the Discount. more
Oil companies charge a transaction fee for use of a credit card for purchase of fuel. The credit card companies issue different type of cards which give different types of advantages to the user. For example Citibank has a Citibank Indian Oil card where Indian Oil allows the use of that card without any such a charge. ICICI bank has a HP card where the user can purchase fuel from HP petrol pumps without any charge. I am using these two cards for purchase of fuel and get a cash back of 0.75% from the oil companies. It gets reflected in the card statement. more
It is only for advertisement purpose and to encourage digital transaction. more
