Paytm - Bhim- UPI?

So it says Paytm Bank to open 500 Mn accounts in next few years enabled with RuPay Card;BHIM UPI etc.

Does that mean my information from Bhim has been shared with a private company PayTM? more

Does anyone know what percentage of PayTM is owned by Chinese? I had read in the papers that Reliance paid USD 400 million for a share in PayTM. Nobody knows who is making a cut out of our hard earned money. more
This applies to all on line financial transactions not only with PayTM. One has choice of not using it. more
Hi Amit very good question Govt. only responsible about that issue. more
BHIM UPI APP works with many other private banks also like POCKETS, YES PAY, IMOBILE etc. When you are registering for VPA through UPI, the NPCI which runs BHIM only validates your details and verifies your identity for these entities. It does not share any material with them. Simply speaking, although you are using a private company app, the identity verification is outsourced by them to NPCI. So, you don't need to worry about privacy issues. Having said that, let me point out that PAYTM has the worst services among all wallets. Even before its heyday and soon after demonetisation, transactions are never completed and they never answer your complaints or feedback. PAYTM was the first e-wallet I used even before it became famous and I lost money in a transaction and the people never responded to my complaints. Hence, I let the remaining Rs. 1000/- go and deleted the app. Much of the profits of PAYTM are through such failed transactions of small value. After that, I have used several e-wallets like POCKETS (ICICI BANK), AIRTEL MONEY, JIO MONEY, YES PAY WALLET ETC. I still use all of them and in my opinion AIRTEL MONEY, POCKETS & JIO MONEY are best. Please avoid PAYTM and Post office completely. Avoid all other standalone e-wallets completely because they are all going to be defunct. Use the banking mobile apps of the account you hold. That is more than enough. You do not need e-wallets anymore now. If you do insist on having a e-wallet, then it is best to have a e-wallet of the bank you have an account in. more
I donot think, most of the "chori"is from insiders who can stole what ever.Hence the cards shall have to be encrypted properly. more
