Paytm fraud

Another platform used for fraudsters to cheat people through Paytm is that you will get an SMS from some number that Paytm will hold your balance after sometime if you KYC is not complete. You ring up on that number and tell them that your KYC is complete. The normal reply will be that the company has cancelled that KYC and you have to do it all again. You will be offerred help and asked to go to playstore and downlead Quicksupport.com on your mobile. You download it, share the ID with the person calling and then you are looted. Your entire system is in his hands, he will transfer money from you credit card to Paytm and from Paytm to his own account. It will take hardly 2 - 3 minutes and by the time you realise what has gone wrong, the game will be over. more

Be aware and ignore such kind of calls and messages. Once you get lured and/or their unbelievable offers make you greedy and you share with all your details including bank accounts related one out of greed, you are likely to suffer from a blow on your face leaving nothing more than regretting and self cursing. more

Dear Surjit Singhji.....Kindly enlighten as to how such Cyber crime can be attributed to Paytm please? Have you any evidence that such alleged cheating happens at the instance or with connivance of PAYTM? Prima facie, I am of the personal view that such incidents are happening mainly due to carelessness or callous actions of person concerned. One has to be extra vigilent while interacting with anyone through internet or mobile. Rather than readily sharing personal as well as bank account details or downloading/installing any unknown App, one should ascertain more details about genuineness. more
