Physical Exam

For people under 40, how often should they get a full physical exam done. Is it required every year or just a few tests can be done annually rest on a less frequent basis? more

Female Physical Exam It is a Good idea to have an Annual Physical Examination. A woman's annual exam might include: Breast exam. Feeling for abnormal lumps may detect breast cancer or benign breast conditions early. The doctor will also check the lymph nodes in the underarm area and look for visual abnormalities of the breasts. Women may do a monthly breast self-exam. Women should contact their Doctor immediately if they notice a change in their breasts, whether or not they do breast self-exams Pelvic exam: The pelvic exam allows examination of the vulva, vagina, and cervix. A Pap test can screen for cervical cancer Laboratory Tests There are no standard laboratory tests during an annual physical. However, some doctors will order certain tests routinely: Complete blood count Chemistry panel Urinalysis (UA) Unless symptoms already suggest a problem, however, these tests are unlikely to provide useful information A lipid panel (cholesterol test) is recommended. Abnormal cholesterol levels increase the risk for heart attacks and strokes if you have diabetes, heart disease, kidney problems, or certain other conditions, you may need to be monitored more closely You should receive a flu vaccine every year. EYE EXAM If you have vision problems, have an eye exam every 2 years. DENTAL EXAM Go to the dentist every year for an exam and cleaning. PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE Do 30 minutes of brisk walking or other exercise, most days of the week. Your risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer will fall dramatically. Eat a mostly plant-based diet, low in animal fats. more
but again all depends if you have any signs of problem then one should not delay more
If you have any disease then frequency of check-up depend on it, if normal then once in a year some tests can be done like lipid profile, sugar and thyroid and for ladies suggest for pap-smear. more
Would like to know too, even for below 40. more
