Priorities for Consumer Affairs Circle
I agree with Jyotsana ji on this circle. Its doing good job, esp for the mrp becoming mandatory for medical products and even my service charge input was taken for giving consumer option.
Like 4th year of govt discussion, local circle and dept of consumer affair should look at defining what will they do for consumer in year 4. things like cost of cashless transaction, recall standards, ensuring people are not charged on cards without approvals, privacy of consumer, minimizing ecommerce frauds through better policy etc and any others that members suggest should be taken as priority.
Hope the authorities are listening.. more

Basically, the input should result in protecting the consumer interest by raising in the circle, taking it to appropriate Govt. Dept. and followup to logical conclusion. Secondly the circle also should serve as a think tank for the Govt. to rely on.. for arriving at meaningful guidelines and developing regulations. It would be great contribution if only this much is done. more

Cash less transaction should be be without any extra cost. If you book rail ticket /air ticket need to pay transaction fee. Total omission of transaction fee is required to encourage cashless transaction. A strong internet service is required to smooth function of digital service. C.Rajeshwari more

MRP as usual exists and i donot think any major impact is felt ,even we write so many issues but pragmatic improvement is least. Now let us consider in medical fields ,prices of medicine remained on higher side,A very few shopkeepers /hospitals give genuine discount or other wise they quote high prices then make reduction just to pacify customers falsely. Look this change does not happen just by writing ,it is critically a policy matter and government wish and intention to reduce the mrp burden over the people. There must be serious intention of government authorities to scrutinise the MRP funda and analyse it scientifically. It is a fact unless and until concerned government authorities go in depth of mechanism of MRP reduction, it would be in favour of corporate, not customers . sanjay kh more
