Remedy for Flatulence

Have observed several times that my husband when we have late dinner and not enough time gap between dinner and sleep time, he experiences flatulence. Sometimes it is so strong, his head also hurts.

What is a really effective remedy or digene/similar tabs is what one should take? more

There is no quick solution for flatulence and the treatment will vary from person to person. Based on my personal experience, all these herbs etc will not help unless you change your food habits and change your life style if you want to get rid of flatulence - avoid foods that causes flatulence like pulses, cabbage etc, must walk for 10-15 minutes after each meal, do not go to bed within one hour of taking your dinner, do vajrasan and all these need to be followed regularly for some time before you can see some results. Along with, you should try homeopathic treatment with consultation with a Homeopath who will find the right medicine for your constitution since homeopathic medicine selection depends upon total character of the person. Nux vom and carbo veg are two of the most common homeopathic medicine for flatulence. more
Dinner should be light and taken early. But if there is flatulence even after that, crush some ajwain seeds and add them to hot water along with some black salt and drink this slowly ; also sit in vajrasan for sometime. more
Dear Vinita Ji: As Mr. Asif is suggesting there is no alternative to this and medicines are definitely not the solution. In fact continuous use of these medicines will lead to heavy indigestion, constipation and so many other problems. Solutions: 1. Early dinner - I would recommend just half stomach. Chew well and just do not gulp. Even this should be easily digestable ones. 2. It will take some mental adjustments to be done for the above change. Second alternative little heavy supper (until one gets mentally accustomed) and close with soup or best milk with pepper and turmeric - reduce quantity of pepper in summers. 3. Indian traditional method, and even modern doc's suggestions - (a) eat breakfast like a king (b) eat lunch like a poor man (c) eat dinner like a pauper - AUGUST RULES AND ETERNAL TRUTHS. 4. Avoid food in the night and eat sprouts or things like that. I was a big sufferer of the same problem that your husband is facing for long. I too felt if dinner is not eaten, don't know what will happen next day. Sedentary habits and lack of exercise will let the food eaten in the morning go upto next day. Next morning man gets up hungry enough to eat heavy break fast. Cardinal rule - avoid frieds, milk products (like khoya, paneer etc) - once in a way is ok. I am not a pioneer in these deserations. These are available all over on the net. Just take your time out to hear astha channel at 0530. That is an eye opener. Please do confirm if things have improved. more
The solution in your question itself. Early dinner and around 2 hours gap before sleep, also 15 min walk after dinner is the cure for this early stage. more
